Garysburg Police & Recreation Department Backpack Giveaway Was a Success!

The Garysburg Police & Recreation Department recently brought the community together for a successful Backpack Giveaway, helping local students start the new school year prepared and ready to succeed.

The event provided families with backpacks and school supplies while creating an opportunity for residents, community partners, volunteers, and staff to connect and support Garysburg’s young people.

Supporting Our Students

Preparing for a new school year can be an exciting time, but it can also create additional expenses for families. Through the Backpack Giveaway, the Garysburg Police & Recreation Department was able to help ease that burden by making sure students had essential supplies for the classroom.

Seeing students and families leave with backpacks in hand was a reminder of what can happen when a community comes together around a shared purpose.
