It's been a busy summer in Garysburg. The summer camp had 71 children participate in the free four- week camp. The camp ended with a trip to Dave & Busters in Raleigh, NC and an award luncheon. Twenty-three children participated in the basketball league. The Sarah C. Bell Family Foundation and the NC Community Schools Coalition partnered with the Town to make all this possible. A BIG THANK YOU to all the volunteers. The volunteers were recognized at the August Board Meeting.

The Garysburg Police and Parks and Recreation Departments held a bookbag give-away with school supplies.

After contractor's delays the CDBG project is finally moving forward. Northampton County has approved the plans and the foundations for the three homes will be completed soon.

Rivers & Associates has submitted plans to the Town for the stormwater project. There are no construction funds available at this time. The Town will have a plan in place when the funds become available.

The Town has submitted the application for the Parks and Recreation Fund Grant. The award will be announced in September. Thanks to all who participated in the surveys, parks and recreation meetings and the public hearings.

The Town is working with Northampton County, regarding the dilapidated housing. A list of properties has been given to the County.

The Citizens of Garysburg are encouraged to attend the monthly board meeting on the first Thursday of each month at 7pm at the Town Hall.
